BIO

With over 20 operatic roles to her credit, a handful of oratorio, musical theatre, pop and jazz credits, Erin Fisher has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Canada, the USA and Europe, and is also a member of the award-winning, international touring vocal group: ViVA Trio.

 

Fisher embraced her passion for music at age 5, studying and performing singing and piano. Fisher grew up singing pop, jazz, musical theatre and classical music, before attending the University of British Columbia (UBC), where she studied both voice and piano. In her 4th year of university, Fisher was offered a contract to sing with the Canadian Opera Company. Fisher graduated from UBC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and a Major in Opera, after which, she first graced Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre stage as a soloist in the Canadian Opera Company’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro at the age of 21, and sang with the COC for three seasons.

 

Canadian Mezzo-Soprano, Erin Fisher, has worked with world-class coaches, teachers, conductors, directors and singers, and has sung internationally in the USA and Europe. Some of her favourite stage performances include Rosina in Rossini’s opera Il barbiere di Siviglia, at Prague’s Rudolphinum, Cherubino in Mozart’s Il Nozze di Figaro in the Czech Republic, Idamante in the opera Idomeneo at Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre, Vivaldi’s Gloria with the VSO in Vancouver’s Orpheum, and most recently, Lily in The Secret Garden by Podium Concert Productions at Toronto’s Trinity St. Paul’s.

Fisher enjoys diversity in her performing and is hired to sing a variety of genres from jazz and pop, to classical, musical theatre and opera. Fisher was featured as a jazz and pop soloist with the Sheraton Cadwell Orchestra at Le Parc Banquet Hall and for Daniel Dalaki Team at Crystal Palace. ​Fisher won the district division of the MET Opera Competition, and won 2nd place at the PNE Youth Talent Search, and has been featured in Opera Canada and on Global TV's The Morning Show. 
 
As a member of ViVA Trio, she has concerts and tours in Canada, USA and Europe booked out into 2022. The trio has had their songs featured in commercials, and ViVA regularly appears on radio, podcasts, TV, magazine and newspaper interviews. With ViVA Trio, Fisher has released an 11-track album: NOTHING ELSE MATTERS, recorded with live orchestra, and numerous singles. ViVA Trio has also released over 15 music videos, with their YouTube channel receiving over 800K views. ​
 
ViVA has gone international with their version of “What a Wonderful World,” which has been featured in two commercials in South Korea. In the press, ViVA Trio has been featured by Toronto Star, CityTV CityNEWS, GlobalTV Toronto's The Morning Show, CHCH Hamilton TV, and interviewed by Winnipeg's CKUW 95.9 FM radio "Shades of Classics," The Drew Marshall Show, and Sirius XM 167 Canada Talks. 
ViVA Trio regularly performs to sold-out audiences of over 1000 in both in Canada and the USA, and have completed a several successful tours, including an International Orchestra Tour from Europe to the USA to Canada, an American West-Coast Tour, and most recently in February 2020 a Canadian National Tour. ViVA also performs for important festivals, official government ceremonies, with orchestras worldwide, and for prestigious corporate events.

During the 2020 quarantine, ViVA Trio offered their first-ever virtual events, which became their series: ViVA gone Virtual: including an Open Mic with ViVA Trio, LIVE Mother's Day Special with ViVA Trio and Guests, Director's Cut, Masterclass with ViVA Trio and Canada Day Celebration with ViVA Trio & Special Guests. Most recently, ViVA Trio released their Virtual Live Stream Holiday Concert Special: Light Up the Season. With ViVA Trio, Fisher looks forward to another exciting year.

 

As a soloist, Fisher was pleased to make her debut with the Peterborough Singers singing Handel's Messiah, and her solo debut with the International Symphony Orchestra in their Christmas Moods and Magic Concert Series. She always looks forward to more ViVA Trio concerts, solo work and performing, and teaching her roster of students.
